Interested in art from a young age, Isabelle Scheltjens studied Decorative Arts and Crafts in Antwerp. Inspired by her husbands glass work she started to learn the technique.
After years of intense practice and stacking countless pieces of coloured glass to refine her method and truly mastering colour theory; she now uses a pointillism, glass-fusing technique where by pieces of glass in different colours, sizes and textures are melted together resembling the dots of paint used by pointillist painters. This forms an abstract image up close, yet a dramatic and precise portrait from a distance.
